Reclaiming ourselves and our communities.

Welcome to my therapy blog! I am so happy you are here :)

So, what am I about, and what do I know?

I know that trauma is a direct reflection of oppressive and repressive systems that enable racism, classism, homophobia, ableism, sexism, and violence. We cannot heal our systems without healing ourselves, too.

As a Black Queer Woman Therapist, my work is not limited to interpersonal healing. It is to actively change a system that causes harm to many communities of color, particularly Black communities.

The root of my work is to activate and awaken clients to their higher selves, to remind them of their power, of their joy, and of their ability to self heal while in a system that is in direct opposition to life.

As a therapist, my values are deeply aligned with self empowerment, community care, joy, and commitment to changing oppressive systems. When we hold each other accountable, we create a safer and more vulnerable world. I  believe joy is radical in the face of oppression. There is power in rest, in joy, and in honoring your needs. I  believe in offering a holistic approach to address cycles of harm. I  understand that systems of oppression impact mental wellness.

I am not only addressing the individual in the session but also the context in which you live.
